About ECO
- This document was compiled by the members of Edgeways to sum up how the guild should be run.
- Due to Edgeways' democratic structure, a single repository of rules is needed as a definite resource on all guild issues.
- All officers are very familiar with this document, and all guild members are expected to follow it.
- Any and all suggestions for changes and/or additions to ECO will be announced to the guild for discussion on the forums, and any changes you can suggest should also be brought up on the forum.
-
General Rules
- Edgeways is a guild devoted to maintaining a friendly atmosphere for all players.
- Above all, all members must be nice to other members.
- There is never a need to resort to any kind of disrespectful comments in Edgeways, any problems will be dealt with by the officers.
- Similarly, any problems you may have with anyone in the guild should be talked about with one of the officers.
- All Edgeways members must be nice to all players of the game, regardless of any discerning in-game or out-of-game characteristic.
- When in an instance, you are expected to stay until the end, unless it is an emergency, or you get another player to replace you.
- Edgeways uses an online raid management system to schedule and sign up for raids.
- Edgeways members should not sign up for raids unless they can definitely attend them. Exceptions to this rule are those that have signed up as "Not Sure" on the Raid Planner.
- Additional raids outside our regular schedule can be arranged on the forum. Anyone can arrange whatever additional raids they want.
-
Recruitment, Promotions, Kicking, and Leaving
- Anyone is welcome to join Edgeways, however you will need to post an application in our recruitment forum.
- When you first join the guild you will be an 'Initiate'.
- If you spend too long as an initiate, you will be kicked from the guild.
- You can be promoted from initiate by being active in guild chat, taking part in the odd 5-man, and actively take part in forum discussions.
- Anyone successfully promoted from the rank of 'Initiate' will attain the rank of 'Edger' and be regarded as a fully fledged guild member.
- Anyone who signs for more than 50% of the raids for any given month will attain the rank of 'Cutting Edger'.
- Raid signs are monitored and tallied by the various Class Lords.
- A sign rate of 50% or above is required month on month in order to maintain 'Cutting Edger' status. If this criterion is not met then the guild member will revert to the rank of 'Edger'.
- Alts are very welcome in the guild, even if you have a main or other alts elsewhere. However they will be assigned the rank of 'Alt' and the mains of the guild will get priority for items on raids.
- If you want to leave Edgeways, please let us know why on the forum, so we can try and fix whatever problems there are.
- If we find that a player has been posting applications to other guilds, his/her Class Lord will speak with him, and the player will be kicked.
-
Schedule
- Our current schedule is always visible on the 'Raid Signups & DKP' section of the website.
- If we have too many of a particular role signed up for a raid, selections are rotated based on ACE figures.
- If we do not have enough of a certain class or specification by fifteen minutes after the raid is due to start, the raid may be cancelled at the Raid Leader's discretion.
-
Chain of Command
- Edgeways is governed by 5 Generals.
- The Generals' job is to govern the guild, handling all major decisions.
- Current Generals are: Dravecat, Berggren, Malignant, Barnaby and Dalashar.
- Each class is governed by a Class Lord.
- The Class Lord's job is to govern his/her class and handle all major class specific decisions as well as provide feedback and advice for fellow class members.
-

Raiding
- 25 DKP is awarded per hour for attending a full raid - a "full raid" means being at the instance entrance and ready to participate at raid start time and not leaving before the scheduled raid end time.
- Each raider or signed reserve gets this DKP hourly rate as long as they are online on main characters or in-guild alts.
- Each reserve receives THE SAME DKP awarded for any given raid provided they are ready to participate at raid start time and are on standby up until half an hour before the scheduled raid end time.
- Each raider initially starts with 0 DKP, meaning that you are unable to acquire items on your first raid unless they are uncontested, or unless it is a free-role night.
- Minimum DKP bid for an item is 25 DKP.
- An uncontested item for a main spec costs 75 DKP. An uncontested item for an off spec costs 25 DKP.
- Players receiving uncontested items may go into negative DKP. To express your interest in an item that you do not have enough DKP to bid for, whisper "MINUS BID" followed by your current dkp total to the lootmaster. An item where there has been no minimum cost bids for will then go to the bidder with the highest total dkp on their minus bid.
- Bidding is by secret bid to the lootmaster
- Remember to keep the good of the raid in mind. Just because you could get an item, doesn't mean it wouldn't be more use to someone else.
- A more detailed breakdown of the DKP system can be found here.
- A more detailed breakdown of the raid selection process can be found here.
-
Lower Levels
- Lower levels are very welcome to join Edgeways, however they must post an application like everyone else.
- Lower levels will need to understand that the higher levels cannot always help them out, much of the time we are busy with the higher level instances.
-
Guild Bank
- Any guild member is allowed to deposit money and/or items.
- Only those guild members with the rank of 'Cutting Edger' or above are permitted to withdraw items from the guild bank.
- Only Generals are permitted to withdraw items from the 'Secure Vault'
-
Close
- The main objective of Edgeways is to be a friendly guild based on democratic principles, and this is to be upheld above all else.
- Anyone who does not agree with rule 9a is not welcome in Edgeways.
- Any and all problems, suggestions, comments, criticisms, or issues, can be discussed with an officer either in-game or on the forum with the private messaging function. Guild-wide messages are best placed on the forum, where they can be discussed by everyone.
- The forum is the central hub of all communication and discussion in our guild. You are expected to read it at least once every few days.
