About ECO
- This document was compiled by the members of Edgeways to sum up how the guild should be run.
- Due to Edgeways' democratic structure, a single repository of rules is needed as a definite resource on all guild issues.
- All officers are very familiar with this document, and all guild members are expected to follow it.
- Any changes you can suggest should be brought up on the forum.
-
General Rules
- Edgeways is a guild devoted to maintaining a friendly atmosphere for all players.
- Above all, all members must be nice to other members.
- Edgeways is a casual, sociable guild. This attitude is present in all aspects of our guild philosophy.
- There is never a need to resort to any kind of disrespectful comments in Edgeways, any problems should be dealt with through calm discussion.
- Similarly, any problems you may have with anyone in the guild should be dealt with amicably, or talked about with one of the officers.
- All Edgeways members must be nice to all players of the game, regardless of any discerning in-game or out-of-game characteristic.
- Raids are scheduled on the in-game calendar.
- Edgeways members should not sign up for raids unless they can definitely attend them - if they are not sure, they should sign as 'tentative.'
- Additional raids outside our regular schedule can be arranged on the forum. Anyone can arrange whatever additional raids they want.
- Almost all discussion and organization happens on the forum. New posts should be read, particularly in the Guild Chat and Raiding sections.
-
Recruitment, Promotions, Kicking, and Leaving
- Anyone is welcome to join Edgeways, however you will need to post an application in our recruitment forum.
- When you first join the guild you will be an 'Initiate'.
- You can be promoted from initiate by being active in guild chat, taking part in the odd 5-man, and actively take part in forum discussions.
- Anyone successfully promoted from the rank of 'Initiate' will attain the rank of 'Edger' and be regarded as a fully fledged guild member.
- Those with Battle.Net Authenticators will be promoted further to Cutting Edger.
- Alts are very welcome in the guild, even if you have a main or other alts elsewhere. However they will be assigned the rank of 'Alt' and the mains of the guild will get priority for items on raids.
- Players leaving the guild are asked to post about this on the forum - both to say bye and to alert us to any issues that we might have missed.
-
Schedule
- Our current schedule is always visible on the 'Join Us' section of the main page.
- If we do not have enough of a certain class or specification by fifteen minutes after the raid is due to start, the raid may be cancelled at the Raid Leader's discretion.
-
Chain of Command
- Edgeways is governed by the Generals.
- The Generals' job is to govern the guild, handling all major decisions and admin.
- Current Generals are: Malona, Malignant, Silvertracks and Dalashar.
-
Raiding
- Edgeways does not use DKP. A simple need/greed system is instead used.
- Need if you need an item, pass if you don't. A designated disenchanter will greed everything else.
- Complications regarding off-specs or miss-clicks can always be dealt with through discussion.
- BoE equipment is rolled off as normal, except that they are sent to the guild bank if left unwanted. Mains not present can be granted these items (provided there are no disputes), and alts can buy them for half of the AH price.
- BoE crafting materials and other special items are stored in the guild bank and granted on a best-in-slot priority, and a first-come, first-serve basis therafter.
- Remember to keep the good of the raid in mind. Just because you could get an item, doesn't mean it wouldn't be more use to someone else. We have no problems with players making deals for greater gains
-
Lower Levels / Socials
- Lower levels and Social players (those without an interest in raiding) are very welcome to join Edgeways, however they must post an application like everyone else.
-
Guild Bank
- Any guild member is allowed to deposit money and/or items.
- Only those guild members with the rank of 'Cutting Edger' or above are permitted to withdraw items from the guild bank.
- Only Generals are permitted to withdraw items from the 'Secure Vault'
-
Close
- The main objective of Edgeways is to be a friendly guild based on democratic principles, and this is to be upheld above all else.
- Anyone who does not agree with rule 9a is not welcome in Edgeways.
- Any and all problems, suggestions, comments, criticisms, or issues, can be discussed with an officer either in-game or on the forum with the private messaging function. Guild-wide messages are best placed on the forum, where they can be discussed by everyone.
