27/01/11 - The Winds of Change
I follow my fellow raiders
up to the Throne Of The
Four Winds
Waiting for the winds of change
A January raiding night
Raiders passing by
Ready for the winds of change
Their world is closing in
Did they ever think
That we could be so close,
like pro-raiders
Their demise is in the air
We can feel it everywhere
Nuking at the winds of change
Take me to the magic
of the moment
On a raiding night
Where the children of Edgeways
fight their way
Through the winds of change
Walking down the streets
Distant memories
Are buried in the bank
No more ugly blues
All have been replaced
Thanks to the winds of change
Take me to the magic
of the moment
On a raiding night
Where the children of Edgeways
share their purples
With you and me
Take me to the magic
of the moment
Of that raiding night
Where the children of Edgeways
nuked away
On the winds of change
The winds of change
Blown straight into the face of time
Like in Stormwind when you're
a blood elf
For peace of mind
Let your new shineys swing
And you e-peens sway
Take me to the magic
of the moment
On a raiding night
Where the children of Edgeways
share their purples
With you and me
Take me to the magic
of the moment
Of that raiding night
Where the children of Edgeways
nuked away
On the wind of change

10/01/11 - A tale of Three Foes
I'm here today,
To tell a tale,
Of battles won,
By men in mail.
I've come today,
Brimming with song,
To celebrate,
The loot we won.
Three foes, there were,
So big and strong,
Their faces dark,
An evil throng.
With valiance,
We set our course,
To end them all,
Through use of force.
Magmaw, they said,
"So hot and tough!"
But he, we killed,
And took his stuff.
We cared not for,
The fire and earth,
We set ablaze,
His length and girth!
Omnitron,
The council, dread!
Whole raids, they'd killed,
Hundreds were dead!
But we, the knights,
We saw them fall,
And armor bits -
We took it all.
Then Halfus, /gasp!
A giant, fright,
His arms were huge,
His life, a blight.
Despite his size,
We took him down
We killed his friends,
We stole his crown.
That was our run,
And such it was!
We crushed them all,
Our mighty maws.
We'll carry on,
And harrow through,
To foes unknown...
We'll loot them too!
/Nagousta
02/01/11 -We'll kick off our raiding this week with Magmaw. Here's a nice link: Wowwiki guide
And here are some nice videos:
25/11/09 - 25 Man Raiding Break
Edgeways are currently recruiting only for social reasons - please return for Cataclysm to check our raiding status.
27/10/09 - Raiders needed!
Continual violence always needs more fodder. Edgeways are looking for a few able boddied bodies to block various projectiles and polearms from hitting our packmules.
1x high-inclusion tank (11/12 raids each month - any class of tank)
3x healers (10/12 raids - again, any class)
3x ranged (any class, but mages are most welcome)
We raid Wednesday, Sunday, and Monday, for 3 hours to 3.5 hours. We're looking for highly-skilled players with at least ulduar 10 gear, and with the presence of mind to not die on every eye beam and dark vortex that comes our way.
Interested? See the link on the top-left for recruitment info.
29/06/09 - Oh hai Vezax.
Shadowcrash, hmm? PFFFT I MOVE FROM YOUR CRASH!
Mark of the Faceless, you say? NO MOAR LIFE SUCKING FOR YOO!
Oh, Searing Flames, you say? I KICK YOU IN THE GONADS, OR SHIELD BASH YOU IF I'M LESS MANLY!
What is that? Surge of Darkness, you say? I EXECUTE A COMPLEX SERIES OF COOLDOWNS AND KITING TO NEGATE ADDITIONAL DAMAGE!
/Nagousta
08/06/09 - The prospect of murdering a Gnome with a penchant for engineering appealed to a lot of our raid members, setting their sights on Nagousta with a glint in their eye. Unfortunately, the Gnome in question was Mimiron. The devious engineer had a variety of vehicles for us to "test", luckily this time destroying them rather than driving the damn things!
Our attempts at halting the mechanical creations were fragmented over the course of a few weeks, prolonging the Gnome's eventual demise. The multi-phased fight proved a massive challenge, especially for our healers with the sheer amount of raid damage occurring. After several attempts reaching phase 3 with half the raid alive, the healers conjured extra throughput from somewhere and the possibility of a kill arose.
We battled through phase 3: expertly kiting Assault Bots, detonating Bomb Bots, compacting Trash Bots while keeping Mimiron busy. His aerial unit was dismantled, inciting panic and desperation in the Gnome, fear in his mechanical eyes.
Phase 4 proved to be incredibly frantic as a kill appeared on the cards and orders were yelled over TeamSpeak by 5 guys simultaneously. The Aerial Unit entered auto-repair mode early and Berggren's exasperated calls of "finish them off!" capped a well deserved victory. Bring on Vezax!

17/05/09 - After months of sexual abuse from the sons of hodir...making us polish his helm, blow his horn and thrust his spear...Edgeways decided enough is enough and finally decided to free the big oaf from Yogg-Saron's gaze. Good times were had, and some more tier 8 dropped with some various other goodies.
Does this mean we don't have to do any more dailys?
/Faize
12/05/09 - At first Freya appeared like another solid challenge as our Snaplasher tank continually died because our trigger-happy dps couldn't contain themselves. After a night of thought regarding the matter, we returned reinvigorated with a fresh new tactic utilising [the otherwise useless] Death Knights.
This new tactic proved hugely successful and after an experimental attempt at circumventing the Detonating Lasher damage (that failed miserably, but was quite hilarious) the pieces clicked into place. We torched all manner of shrubbery that Freya bombarded us with before coming face to face with the weakened giant herself. Dalashar mesmerised her with his irrepressible charm while the rest of the raid attacked her from the rear [oo-err], bringing this nature-lover back to Earth.
She yielded our first Fragment of the Val'anyr! Big grats to PALAUDOWN. Quit now, and we'll chase you until you drown in your own footsweat! This post was made during loot handouts.

05/05/09 - Another boss in Ulduar bites the dust! After a fun and challenging night of learning Thorim we decided to completely change our tactics. Berg put on his pvp gear and we were good to go!
After a few attempts we rid ourselves of the Naxx-sickness(gather stuff and AoE), sorted out targeting macros and laid down some serious woop-ass single target damage. The encounter was the most complex yet. The Arena team found itself constantly wondering what the Gauntlet team was shouting about on teamspeak, while struggling to control the chaos of mobs.
From now on you can just assume that each of our new boss kills is made on the last attempt of the raid...Bring on more fun bosses!!
/Harrif & Faize
29/04/09 - After oneshotting Kologarn (payback!), we moved on to fill the remaining 30 minutes of our raid with learning Auriaya. Unlike our usual 1% wipes, Cat lady has us wiping at ~99%... And then after a few attempts it just clicked. We went from stonewall wiping to a clean kill, we didn't know what to think!
Grats to looters, tanks, healers and dps(+ Nag :) ) on a surprising boss kill.
/Harrif
27/04/09 - Yeehaw! After a splendid evening of successful wipes we finally got our stuff together and spanked this giant's a.. belly. The fight itself gave us a proper challenge, but we endured and got him down on the last attempt of the raid. Tonight we oneshotted Kologarn and cancelled the raid in favor of grinding dailies, as we want the Ulduar experience to last as long as possible.
Check our recruitment status to the left, join the fun!
/Harrif
26/04/09 - For all his fiery talk, Ignis proved to be a bit of a damp squib tonight as the Edgeways 25 man team put him out!
In fact, we got so fired up by the ginger bearded one, that we went and picked on some more of slag infested Ulduar and dismantled the Assembly of Iron! Big gratz to all. :)
/Dalashar
23/04/09 - New toys? For me? Yes, Edgeways were ready to play tonight. Bombs where flying left and right and just as we where starting to have fun getting battered in a Tantrum, XT-002 suddenly looked tired. I could hear someone in the melée yell "cardiac arrest, CPR now or it might break!".
All helped out, and thank god, we got the heart running again! More toys joined in, and now we all had a blast. Then I don't know what happened, but i think Stan broke it, i guess it doesn't bend that way. Anyways, nerf gravity bombs!
/Berggren
Tonight - 19/04/09 - we battered the proto drake and his iron chums. After playing with blue fire and getting burned, in true Edgeways fashion, we shifted up a gear and got our kill and a sexy achievement, 'A Quick Shave', to go with it.
Gratz to all, Ulduar is proving to be a welcome return to proper raiding and we look forward to our next kill.
/Dalashar
Last night - 04/01/09 - our 10 man team downed the Blue Dragon Aspect himself! Top work from all involved, especially Malignant who managed to put up an unfeasible amount of stacks on the boss in the 3rd phase, finishing him off after most of us lesser beings had wiped!
Alas, Berggren, the raid leader went AFK thinking the attempt was doomed, missed the death throes and returned to find us all gaping at Alexstrasza.
Nice work folks! :)
/Dalashar
Edgeways is a fun, friendly and inclusive guild that proves that maintaining those ideals doesn't come at the cost of raid progression. We raid 3 times a week with a small, competitive and highly successful raid team and expect our raiders to have commitment, persistence and a continuing devotion to bettering their mastery of whichever class they play. Also the ability to giggle at a bum joke wouldn't go amiss.
Coming late to 25 man raiding in TBC; Edgeways achieved it's stated aim of downing Ilidian and is now looking to surpass these achievements in WotLK whilst maintaining everything that makes the guild a great place to be. Our first official 25 man raid is scheduled for January the 14th 2009, until then we will be farming 10 man content for gear. Hold your breath for a flurry of screenshots of dead bosses and 25 /flex's come February.
If Edgeways seems like a place you would fit in well, please feel free to apply here on our Recruitment forum where your application will be reviewed by our Class Lords in line with the needs of the Guild.
Also a big thanks to everyone involved in getting the new website up and running, big shout outs for Nagousta, Dalashar and Idreal for all their efforts.
